Hmmm. (Or rather, HELP!!) The books don’t give much advice on that one. And, silly parents that we are, we didn’t anticipate the obvious question and think of a suitable answer in advance.
“Uh, uhm…”
It sounds a little lame, but we ended up telling him that when a mommy and daddy want to have a new baby they make love. That’s how the baby gets into mommy’s tummy. It seemed like an honest, age appropriate answer. And if he is old enough to understand and ask the question then that is exactly what he deserves.
He seemed satisfied. For now… So now we are working on the answers to the obvious follow-up questions. Help! 🙂
