Who knew he could operate a camera-phone!
Saturday, February 24, 2007This happened a few weeks ago. In fact, this story prompted the creation of this blog.
It was a typical morning before work. The two of us were taking a shower. Don’t worry, it was very PG-13 – a little innocent nudity, but otherwise nothing interesting. (Hey I didn’t ask you to imagine it! Besides, we’re technically still newlyweds…) Anyway, there we were, showering away. Suddenly the curtain pulled back and there stood the Willis, with my cell phone, taking pictures! I didn’t even know he knew how to start the camera let alone get it to take pictures. But sure enough, he got a couple shots off before we could get the camera away from him. He claims he was only taking pictures of the shower curtain, not what was behind it…
There are 2 shower curtains, one inside to contain the water and one outside to look nice. He pulled back the outer curtain to reveal the inner one. Notice any blurry human-like smudges? Luckily this inner curtain has enough hard water deposits you can’t see through it very well.
He got one more off before we got the camera away. You have to admit, it is a decent composition. And I like the creative use of the mirror. I think our budding pornographer has talent!

He and Adie could create their own art show with camera phone pics. Adie is also pretty good at it, though her shots are usually just of the floor. Pretty boring compared to what Will’s into!

Seven years ago, the camera-phone hardly registered. Indeed, on 17 June 2003, some idiot wrote in the Guardian that the low take-up of those newfangled 3G phones with their built-in cameras, launched two months previously, could be ascribed to the fact that “it’s not immediately clear what they’re for, and that mystery is not sufficiently seductive to make many of us shell out”. The writer all but argued that camera-phones were destined for the technological knacker’s yard, like Sinclair C5s, the Securi-Gnome and NiteMates slippers with their built-in headlights (all real products). With the benefit of hindsight, let me admit what a bonehead I was to write that…
