Although this post has absolutely nothing to do with the Willis I think it is something most parents (and probably most kids) can relate to. It is at once heartbreaking and very funny. Hope is the daughter of a friend of mine. What more to say? Read it here.

Yesterday Will read his first complete book all by himself. Tolstoy? Dickens? Chaucer? Dumas? Hemmingway? No, it was Maslen! We are very proud!

And then there was the Willis

For a long time we’ve been meaning to create some record of the crazy things our favorite 5 year old Will, aka the Willis (as in “Whatchyou talkin’ about…”), says and does. Sure, we have pictures and maybe a handful of videos somewhere, but they don’t quite capture the whole picture. This kid is smart, witty, and often out of control (yeah, I know, every parent says that). His kindergarten teacher keeps a list of all of the funny and off the wall things he says. She calls them Willisms. That name inspired the name of this blog. These are some of the things we hope to capture so we can share them with friends and family, remember them as we get older, and maybe even use them as evidence when he brings his girlfriends by in 10 or 15 years… And what better way to do all of that than to immortalize them on the internet! So anyway, here goes. This blog is sure to be neglected, but we’ll do our best to keep it somewhat up to date.
